Sissu (also spelled Khwaling) is a village in the Lahaul and Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh. It’s situated on the right bank of the Chandra River, along the Manali–Leh highway route. Notably, Sissu sits near the entrance of the Atal Tunnel (which improves year-round access).  The altitude is significant (over 3,000 m) and the surrounding landscape is high-Himalayan, with dramatic mountain views, a waterfall, and the river valley setting. Because of this setting, staying in Sissu gives you a mix of mountain views, relative remoteness, and access to the valley’s natural beauty.
