Begin your journey from Chandigarh towards Manali, driving through scenic Himalayan roads. En route, visit Gobind Sagar Lake at Bilaspur, Sundar Nagar Lake, and the impressive Pandoh Dam. Stop at Kullu Valley, known as the “Valley of Gods,” where you can enjoy optional river rafting. On arrival in Manali, explore the lively Mall Road before an overnight stay.
After an early breakfast, drive towards Jispa via the iconic Atal Tunnel. Post tunnel, stop at scenic locations like Sissu, Khoksar, and Keylong. Enjoy the transition from green valleys to rugged terrain. Reach Jispa by evening and enjoy a peaceful night under a star-lit sky with dinner.
Start early for a thrilling drive to Leh, crossing high-altitude passes like Baralacha La and scenic spots like Darcha and Zing Zing Bar. Continue through Nakee La, Lachulung La, and the famous Gata Loops. After lunch at Pang, drive across the vast More Plains and cross Tanglang La before reaching Leh via Upshi. Overnight stay in Leh with acclimatization.
Explore Leh starting with Hall of Fame, a tribute to Indian Army bravery. Visit Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, a sacred site linked to Guru Nanak Dev Ji, followed by Magnetic Hill, known for its optical illusion. Witness the stunning confluence at Sangam Point. After breakfast, proceed for an exciting excursion from Nubra Valley to the border village of Turtuk, one of the northernmost villages of India known for its unique Balti culture and scenic beauty. Drive along the Shyok River, enjoying mesmerizing landscapes and views of the Karakoram ranges. Explore the village, interact with locals, and experience a completely different cultural side of Ladakh. Later, return back to Nubra Valley for an overnight stay.
After breakfast, depart from Nubra Valley towards Pangong Lake via the scenic Shayok route passing through Shyok, Durbuk, and Tangtse. This offbeat route offers mesmerizing landscapes and fewer crowds. By afternoon, reach the breathtaking Pangong Lake, famous for its changing shades of blue. Spend the evening enjoying the serene beauty of the lake before settling in for an overnight stay near Pangong.
Start your journey early from Pangong Lake and drive along the remote and scenic route via Chushul, experiencing the raw and untouched beauty of eastern Ladakh. En route, visit the historic Rezang La War Memorial, which honors the brave soldiers of the Battle of Rezang La. By afternoon, arrive in the tranquil village of Hanle, begin your exploration with a visit to the iconic Hanle Monastery, offering panoramic views of the vast valley and surrounding mountains. Later, head to the renowned Indian Astronomical Observatory. In the evening, witness one of the clearest night skies in India—Hanle is a paradise for stargazing, where the Milky Way is often visible to the naked eye, making it a perfect end to a peaceful and enriching day.
Start from Hanle and drive through remote high-altitude plains via Nyoma and Mahe, enjoying scenic views of the Indus Valley and vast barren mountains. The route offers a peaceful and untouched side of Ladakh with minimal traffic and raw natural beauty. By afternoon, arrive at Tso Moriri Lake near Korzok. Spend the evening relaxing by the serene lake, known for its crystal-clear waters and quiet surroundings, and enjoy a calm overnight stay amidst nature.
After breakfast retrace the route down to Puga Sumdo and then follow the road across the Polokongka Pass to visit Tsokar Lake, further take the Manali-Leh road to return to Leh, crossing Taglang-la Pass (alt: 17,585ft). Visit Shey Monastery (former royal palace with a large Buddha statue), Thiksey Monastery (a grand monastery resembling Potala Palace), and Hemis Monastery (the biggest and richest monastery in Ladakh). Also visit Sindhu Ghat (a peaceful riverbank on the Indus) and Druk White Lotus School (famous from the movie 3 Idiots ). Overnight stay in Leh.
